COLLAPSOLOGIES
Series of 4 black glass sculptures, 2025.
Exhibition : Galerie Keshavarzian Paris.
The Collapsologies series presents black glass sculptures that embody the birth, expansion, and decline of great past civilizations :
the Achaemenid Persian Empire (559–330 BCE), the Roman Empire (c. 260 BCE – 476 CE), the Han Dynasty in China (206 BCE – 220 CE), and the Ottoman Empire (1299–1920).
Each form traces, through a kind of morphological aesthetic, the evolution of these empires, their duration, territorial growth, conquests, and losses. Black glass, a material both solid and fragile, becomes here a medium for reflecting on the vulnerability of human constructs, even the mightiest, in the face of time’s passage.
